MIDSOMMER - You are cordially invited to celebrate summer solstice with us here at the Betsey Trotwood. It’s all happening Sunday 22nd June 2025. Doors at 1pm with music and food being served up from 2pm. Free entry with a donation for the performers.
Hosted by early music expert Will Summers and modular synth wizard Danny Wooton - expect folk songs from the days of yore, bubonic beats, medieval merriment and morris dancing.
We’ve also got a smorgasbord of performers: headliners are the Tudor power trio PRINCES IN THE TOWER. Featuring Michael Tyack, Will Summers and Jude Rees, they’re on offshoot of psych rockers Circulus and will be serenading us with upbeats ditties and ancient ballads - all performed on cittern, saz, crumhorn and other assorted instruments.
THE BELLES OF LONDON CITY are 21st century morris dancers of the highest order and will be bringing their shenanigans to our main bar.
Downstairs in our basement Will and Danny will be setting up shop for their EARLY ELECTRONICA; where medical flutes and crumhorns meet analogue synthesisers and sequencers. Not to be missed!
Plus The Bastard Sons Buxtehude, Katy Carr, Sunken Gardens Jennifer “Bliss” Bennett, Madrigal, Crumhorn Collective, Steve Carpenter, Jude Rees, Holly Jane Shears, Blake, Purcell, Bach, Biber, Eccles, MT’s 60th, DJs, Films and much, much more…
