Two outstanding Americana acts for us this month, before our summer break.
The Dimpker Brothers are a Swedish singing duo in the country/pop tradition of the Everlys and the Louvin brothers. Brothers Martin and Adam hail from the woods of Småland, Sweden, and their live shows and debut album Deathless (2022) have won them well deserved admiration. A new album is in the offing.
Our Man In the Field is the musical alter-ego of songwriter and actor Alex Ellis, whose album Gold On The Horizon (2023) is a 12-song collection of stark and soulful life observations. Collaborating with pedal steel maestro Henry Senior, this support slot is a low key stop off on a global tour culminating in the UK with a headline show at Bush Hall on Sept 28.
Do come down. It's free to get in as usual, no need to book, but please bring a note for the collection jug!
The next Come Down & Meet The Folks is on September 29, with Big Steve headlining and Naomi Campbell (the singer from Liverpool's Motel Sundown) in support.
