MONTHLY RESIDENCY FOR HACKNEY'S FINEST BLUEGRASS TINTED FOLKSTERS.
If you haven't already caught them at their regular Sunday morning busking spot on Columbia Road then catch them here the last Wednesday of the month. "one of those rare acts that, rather than seek fame and fortune by any means necessary, are content to achieve simply on the back of good songs and hard work ... gentle harmony-led songs call to mind early Simon & Garfunkel and even The Everly Brothers. And while Faulkner's superb harp playing conjures images of freight train-hopping Americana, the unadorned, strictly English-and-so-what vocal delivery sets them apart from the crowd and only adds to their charm - as it did with The Go-betweens thirty years earlier ... impossible to dislike. - Gerry Ranson, Rock n Reel, Sept/Oct '09 8:30
"Easy-flowing harmonies and melodies swim along like early Jayhawks, the lyrics smiling in the face of life and love's travails". Andy Fyfe, Q Magazine, Nov '09

PATRICK DUFF £7
Former STRANGELOVE man performs his new album "THE MAD STRAIGHT ROAD" solo acoustic.
In the 90s Patrick Duff was the singer in Strangelove; the Bristol alternative band who released three critically-acclaimed albums on Parlophone EMI. After Strangelove, Patrick travelled the world, playing his songs in festivals and working with other musicians; most notably a collaboration with an 81-year-old woman, African storyteller and musician Madosini, with whom he lived and worked in the townships of Capetown South Africa. On his return in 2005 Duff’s first recorded solo album 'Luxury Problems' featuring members of Portishead, Spiritualised and Suede was released on EMI's legendary Harvest label. In early 2010 Patrick launched his new album 'The Mad Straight Road', which again features a host of acclaimed musicians, and which he describes as "a synthesis of some of the music that has shaped my life". Alongside this amazing new record of rich textures, Patrick is embarking on a series of intimate, one-man solo shows across the UK which showcase his unique song writing talent.
