A long awaited return to CVW for Brighton based psych-country-rockers off the back of a new album. The oldest pop group in the UK!! ... dating back to 1947 when the band were formed by the bass player's Grandad. The band legacy has been handed down the bass playing generations ever since. Currently taking form as a bunch of 25 year olds playing charming original swing pop and strange acoustic stuff.
As its 4th July it seems only right to feature an American artist on tonight's bill and we're delighted to welcome Marcia Mello back to the Betsey ... She's a singer-guitarist from Provincetown Massachusetts performing finger-picked ragtime and prewar blues. She covers old favourites by Blind Blake, Washington Phillips, Memphis Minnie, Blind Lemon Jefferson and others, as well as her own original work. She also features on Butterfly recordings 'What The Folk' compilation.
